Hi! I’m Tania.

Wife, Mother, Therapist, & Millennial

I’m originally from Los Angeles (don’t hold it against me!) and San Diego has been my home since college. I began my graduate career at UCLA, getting my Masters in Public Policy, but quickly went back to my passion and earned my Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University. I knew I needed to be more intimately and directly involved with people to do the kind of work I loved. Since graduating, I have been providing psychotherapy in San Diego and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#71525) in the state of California.

I have been working with adults and couples providing therapy, education, and support for almost fifteen years. I pursued work in a variety of settings, including shelters, on college and high-school campuses, on base, and in hospitals. I started my private practice so I could work with people on my own terms, doing exactly what they needed to heal and not what the policy dictated. Thankfully, I get to work with the coolest people and watch them flourish.

In addition to private practice, I consult with non-profits on military mental health. Being a military family is a unique experience and I love helping other families navigate this lifestyle.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband and boys, running trails, trying to be a green thumb, or diving into a new book or podcast. You should also know that I love chocolate, college football, and the Real Housewives.

I consider being a therapist a privilege. I am honored that people share their lives with me every day.  It takes courage to start therapy and examine different parts of your life. Most of us never get the chance to slow down, but going to therapy means prioritizing yourself. It’s one of the healthiest things you can do.

The best compliment I get from clients is that I’m easy-going and comfortable to talk to. I ask questions because I want to get to know you better. I trust you – you’re the expert on your life. My role is not to tell you what to do or give you answers. We do our best work when we explore issues together and find solutions that are in line with your values and your current life.

Inclusion is a core principle that guides my practice.

I believe in fostering an environment for therapy that is safe and inclusive. I work hard to stay educated on and attuned to the cultural and ethical complexities that may shape your life and identity. I do my best to offer marginalized communities support and affirmation. My ethical values are deeply rooted in principles of social justice, community, safety, and equality.
